7 Rules of Wealth*

1. Get Deeper into Debt
2. Lose Your Job
3. Waste Your Life
4. Save Less, Spend More
5. Be Materialistic
6. Become a Slave
7. Be Unrealistic

Do I have your attention? I realize that these concepts are not what you would hear at your typical financial seminar but when I heard them the first time I was enthralled to hear more.

1. Get Deeper into Debt -

Increase your debt with the world you live in. SERVE. As you serve others you will be blessed more then you could ever give. When you give, it comes back.

Your rate of return can be explained with the 5-10-100 Fold Principle:

- Your return is 5-fold when you help someone else.
- Your return is 10-fold when you help someone else and it is a sacrifice to you.
- Your return is 100-fold when you help someone, it hurts, and you do it anonymously.

Three ways you can serve:

Tithing - this is considered our rent for being on earth. For some it is a very sacred, faith-building activity. If you are not religious, give 10% to your favorite charity. All of us can live on 90% of our income. Make tithing a habit.

Charity - be active in feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and healing the sick.

Philanthropy - Philanthropy involves giving of yourself. Free the captive, teach the ignorant and beautify the world.

If you are not giving enough that it hurts, you're not giving enough.

2. Lose your Job -

A job guarantees you will be in the same place next month. Build something important, something that matters.

Here are five ways to build something:

1. Entrepreneurship - build a business.
2. Social Entrepreneurship - Build a business that helps others. A non-profit organization.
3. Intrepreneurship - Work within an existing organization to make it better.
4. Investments - Use your investments to fund the first three.
5. Philanthropy - Makes the first four more successful.

Focus on making 20% of your income come from investments and 80% comes from Building Something.

3. Waste Your Life -

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matt. 16: 25

Waste and wear out your life for the THINGS THAT MATTER. Give up old habits that bring you down. Turn off the TV. Use your life for good.

4. Save Less, Spend More -

Not money, but TIME. Stop trying to "save" your time. Spend your time everyday in things that matter. Use it up!

Stop saying when I'm... then I'll... If I only had... then I could...

5. Be Materialistic -

SPEND your time and energy into making your family, neighborhood, state, country and world a better place. Care what happens around you.

The business world teaches us to succeed, God wants us to give.

6. Become a Slave -

- Truly wealthy people are slaves to something bigger and better then themselves.
- Submit to God
- Do what you should, not what you want.
- Lose your life in something bigger than yourself and you will find wealth and happiness.

Slavery is all about who is your master. Choose your own master and discipline yourself to follow that master.

7. Be Unrealistic -

Dream big dreams and do it. If you fail, keep going and figure it out. We are trained to shun anything that might fail. Don't give into fear.

Everybody was born to be great. Do not choose mediocrity!
